Gratitude X2 for Blogging Diversity!

Cross-posted from 43Things— Now with extra edits here on the WordPress entry!

1. WordPress bloggers are working on goals and I have reasons to use 43Things again.
a. Building Rome from Bradley “Green Embers” Corbett
Bradley knows about 43Things and I told him I’d use it while participating in this project.  I am confused about whether this week is about passion, or reaching out, or both.
b. Ten Things of Thankful from Lizzi at Considerings
Lizzi’s series was what originally reminded me, “Hey, I’m involved in a goal at 43T just like this!”

2. I still have a TENS unit I can use although I will have to send it back

it looks more or less like this

3. Food bank Friday

4. The chore boards Cimmy got for her and the kids (don’t worry, I have my task lists too) AND she agreed to review chores again today

5. Cimmy is reading to me “The Complete Idiot’s Guide to Verbal Self-Defense” even though the book isn’t very good (at least compared to “Verbal Judo: The Gentle Art of Persuasion”)

6. Cimmy still laughs when I fart, like just now

fart photo you-what-woman-fart-ladies-first-da.jpg

My mother told me no nice girl would want to marry a guy who burped, and farted… Guess I showed her.

7. For that matter, Princess usually laughs when either of us fart

and your loved ones laugh about it.

Actually, this is more the exchange I have with both Princess AND Cimmy. But more often Princess. Dayum!

8. Irrigation is back on! SeeWater returned to some KID customers in east Kennewick, Finley

I wonder if this has any connection to those damn rodents burrowing in OUR backyard

9. Pizza for dinner (see #3)

Not homemade, not delivery, but DiGorno.

10. Fresh fruit (also see #3)

which, coincidentally enough, makes me fart

  1. All good relationships have an OFR (open farting relationship).

  2. Beautifully done, Jak – and I’m glad you’re happy to be part of the 43Things AND the TToT 😀

Pizza *can* be a thankful, though the one Husby ordered for me the other night, with a BAJILLION tiny green chillies mixed into the topping, which made my mouth BURRRRRRRRRRRRN was a questionable meal choice. And not one I’ll be taking again. Too, TOO hot. And I usually love hot food.

Glad you’re all having such fun at home – it sounds like there is a lot of camaraderie and laughter and LOVE there 🙂

    • I really like making pizza from scratch, although I have yet to get the crust just right, or at least right on a consistent basis. I really like spicy food myself, but my son can’t handle it– he finds even peppermint overwhelming. I find it’s usually much easier to add hot sauce to my own taste rather than put chiles on a pizza and take a chance irritating the rest of the family too much.

And yes, we do have a lot of love. Sometimes, there is shouting and tears– we’re not perfect– but we try to balance it out with laughter and joy. We’d rather laugh than cry, as there has been enough for a LOT of tears already.

      • I love that idea that you’d rather laugh because of there having already been enough tears. That’s a good choice.

I make homemade pizza but not to really any recipe. I just add what I think looks about right and go for it. Delicious though 😀

        • Yep! I think it’s just mostly about getting the crust right, then decorating it to your heart’s content. Cimmy and the kids have raved about all sorts of sauces and toppings I’ve tried, although I don’t score a winner every time. Pesto with shrimp and artichokes, Tex-Mex taco toppings, sausage and veggies… It’s SO versatile.

  3. Hi there. I never did care for the farting jokes. But I have husband and son – so I get it. Totally unliberated about it myself.

  4. Im with you and lizzi on the pizza… I just made one to have tonight… looking forward to it with friends. SO I have heard of the 43 posts but have yet to look it up…. I am intrigued but apparently my procrastination is stronger…

    • Jump in when you’re feeling plucky, Zoe… it’s a short-form platform, so most 43T posts are MUCH less involved and elaborate than blog posts can be. In other words, you can get by with a short amount of text, not even a picture, and people cheer your posts. Seriously, I just dressed this post up once it got to WordPress… the original 43T post is MUCH less fancy.

  5. Well, welcome to the TToT! You’ll fit right in here, as one of the topics discussed earlier this week was whether or not it was a good idea to have a phone in the bathroom (and actually use it whilst availing oneself of the facilities).
Pizza is ALWAYS a good idea. I could eat it every day. I have a 19 year old son who very nearly DOES eat it every day.
How long did the little rodent cause you to be without water?!

    • Oh hey, thank you! Yes, it seems everyone around the world loves pizza, at least when it’s had a few local modifications.

I think we were without irrigation for about a week. Fortunately, it happened after I did a deep watering of both front and back yards, and drip watering our tomatoes and chiles. We also have plastic bottles with holes buried near the tomato and chili plant roots that had been filled with water, so there was an emergency supply. We also had a bit of rain that week, so nothing got fully parched.

  6. Very fun! La palabra que yo uso cuando hablando the “farts” es, PEO. I giggle every time I say, PEO! So give it a try and you’ll be teaching your kids Spanish before you know it! 🙂

  7. Pizza and fruit–yum!

    • Reminds me I should try dessert pizza sometime– they’re more pastry, though, and baking is Cimmorene’s area of expertise.

      Thanks for stopping by.

  8. I live with 5 boys and a husband. I’m lucky if we have 5 minutes straight without someone farting. I still don’t do it, though. 😉
We love some pizza around here. All except for one of our kids. We just ignore him and have it for dinner anyway.
