Camera LCD screen cracked

The silver lining to this bad news is that although the LCD screen of our Canon PowerShot is cracked, the camera still otherwise works. The camera is still usable, apparently, but anything that requires digital visual feedback is gone. Effectively, camera shots now are blind.

My daughter still has her Nikon CoolPix, however, and if I can ever find and install that card reader, we may use that more full-time (but really, we need to sort through her pictures, first).

EDIT: the screen is a Liquid Crystal Display (LCD), not a Light Emitting Diode (LED). As you can guess, it’s easier to crack an LCD than an LED.

  1. oh that’s a shame. I would be so upset if anything happened to my camera!

  2. Sorry to hear this.

I bet you can find another screen on the internet. Of course, you’d have to know how to install it. I’m not so good at fine motor control so I wouldn’t have a prayer at being able to install it.

    • Actually my father-in-law recommended a camera repair place that will fix it quickly and good as new for under $100.

Thank you for the great idea to get us started, though!
