I can’t believe my own mother spammed me.

So my mother sends me an e-mail advertisement from Quizno's Subs – their "Back to School Gift Card Promotion".  This was her attached message:

Just case I think Quizno's is yummy and it's nice to have coupons! Also, referring your friends gives me more chances to win the Back To School contest! Love you all…..

I thought, "Oh no.  My mother sounds like a complete schoolgirl!" not to mention "Oh crap, she probably sent it to my sisters, too."

So I sent it back– not to Quizno's, of course, but to my parent's e-mail with an audio clip of the Spam Song:

My folks were away on vacation when this arrived, and I sent my reply.  My parents are pretty tech illiterate, not to mention that they share the same e-mail (with my father's name on it), and so when they called to inform Cimmy and I they were home, I had to explain the e-mail was actually from me.

Apparently my idea is neither original, nor as eloquent:
By Jove! Egad! By GAD! and this was Kevin Wolf's reply to that post:

All spam should be responded to with Monty Python-esque correspondence.

This is a Capital Idea!  Bully for you!

So while I did not aspire to sound like some jolly old English bean (in more Monty Pythonesque style), I think my reply was probably more than of a reclusive hacker.  Just the link, and nothing else, although I both put the link in the body of the e-mail, and attached the .mp3 file itself to the message.

Wherever you see "jaklumen", that's me- the username is still unique as of the current year. Be aware that the facet you see, is only a small part of the me that is me.
